Benjamin Kaufmann Shoot!

Hey bloggers, it's been a long time since my last blog. The reason for this, I have been super duper busy...

So I had the pleasure of working with one of my favourite makeup artists 'Kenneth Soh' again who introduced me to a wonderful team of hair stylists, fashion stylists and photographer.

The brief- 1960's vs Oriental- super cool!!

The clothing on this shoot were vivacious, bold and colourful so we decided to go understated and chic on the nails... Not usually my style but I can do whatever the brief has asked of me. We decided on a simple half moon using taupe, nails Incs 'Basil Street' and Essie's subtle silver 'Cabana Boy'.

Take a look at the backstage pictures and let me know what you think? As soon as I have the real images I with add them on.

Have a great weekend xx

Billionaire.com Shoot!

Hey Readers, so I was lucky enough to be asked to style Nails on an editorial for Billionaire.com. I was thrilled as I was going to be working with the amazing Kenneth Soh (MUA). His work is beautiful, you must take a peak at his blog 'The Musing of a Makeup Artist'. The stunning hair was style by the cool Louis Byrne, both artist are part of the well renowned 'Frank Agency'.

I was briefed black and white, contrast, sexy, striking, bold and harsh, quite the opposite to my style. I was inspired even more because it was so different to the usual bright, bold and vivid colours that I'm used to. I went for Matte Black vs Glossy vs Ombré, but kept it simple. See the designs below.

The fabulous Art Director Antonia Chang decided to go for a simple design, Matte Black with a glossy Silver tip. Check out the images below all photography by me, once I get my hands on the real images I will post and share them with you all... Hope you like, let me know your thoughts

Have a great week xxx

Hey readers, hope you are well. I can't believe it's been over a month since my last post... I have been super busy. I had the pleasure of joining the butter LONDON team for LFW SS13, it was an amazing experience. I worked on the JS Lee, Erdem and Craig Lawrence. The nails were chic and simple...

For JS Lee a cool grey with matte white half moons, Erdem, a beautiful frosted blue which complemented all his designs and finally Craig Lawrence, bold matte black with a stunning silver border.

Graphic Print!

Hey readers, its been blooming ages since my last post... This selection of nail designs are from the past couple of weeks. I'm loving bold, simple statement nails. Some are heavily influenced by the great Madeleine Poole, Nail Artist. If you haven't seen her work google it immediately! Lol. Immaculate and skilful is Miss Poole, her execution and precision is one of a kind. I absolutely adore her work.

As you know (if you follow my work) my style is colourful, bold and consists of Graphic prints and geometric shapes. The Black and White set were inspired by LFW. I collaborated with Butter LONDON on a few shows this week using Union Jack Black and Diamond Geezer (silver borders) and a matte top coat for Craig Lawrence's catwalk show... Little sample shown below! (my birthday nails today!) Have a sneaky peek of what I've been up to of recent and let me know your thoughts?? Xx

INSA inspired!

Hey readers, this set of nails were inspired by the great graffiti artist INSA. I love his use of bold prints and bright colours. This particular piece of art is one of my favourites. Bottoms and legs .

I discovered INSA art via Sophy Robson and the competition they had going a few months back which I entered. Unfortunately I didn't win but to be honest I was quite new to the nail art game and there were amazing entries compared to mine. Grace @DecoNails was the winner and well deserved at that! Her designs were so intricate, thought out and executed to the T.

Check out my recent design and competition entry... Let me know your thoughts? Xx

Love for JA!

Hello Readers, this manicure was inspired by the Olympics and my love for the Jamaican track team... Ombre, Jamaican flag colours and sweet hearts. Playing with my new set of Nail Art pens to create a more intricate design.

So proud to be part Jamaican! Go Team Jamaica...

I hope you like? Let me know your thoughts?

Have a fab day! Xx

Ring around the Roses...

Hey Nailettes, at the minute I am in love with floral designs. Probably the quickest styled nail art to do, well for me! I studied Graphic design way back when and had a slight obsession with floral design then too. Scribbling in my A3 art pads experimenting with different mediums. Then I discovered nails and use them as little sketch books...

I love drawing roses as you can really experiment with colours and texture. I like to outline the roses making them look a little more like Graphic art or an Illustration.

Take a peek at my designs and let me know your thoughts!

Happy Sunday to you all Xx

Hawaii Hula!

Hey blogettes, hope all are well. London has finally seen some sun and at great temperatures too. Because of this I decided to do some fun summer nails... hence Hawaii Hula!

I ordered a beautiful Neon Salmon Pink polish by China Glaze called Flip Flop Fantasy and couldn't wait to create something with it as soon as it arrived.

I am still in love with the Ombre effect and thought this would look great for summer using 'Flip Flop Fantasy' and a couple of older polishes by Essie. I'm loving clashing pinks and oranges together. I think they look stunning.

I don't usually do the gimmicky styled nails but thought I'd give it a go. So, palm trees, layered polaroids, flying seagulls, random leopard print and a bordered thumb it was. Instead of going harsh using a black striper I opted for the white, making the design a little more subtle. I really wanted the the gorgeous colours on the base to be more prominent.

Take a look and let me know your thoughts. Have a fab weekend xxx
