The Ombre Nail!

Afternoon all, so I tried the Ombre styled nail. Super quick and easy. Using four polishes (Nails Inc and Barry M) Portobello Market (pastel orange, Wimbledon (pastel green), Malibu (tropical blue) and a Barry M Canary Yellow.

I first applied a base coat and a White polish base (floral street, Nails Inc), it's always best to use a good quality base coat and polish if you want your manicure to last... Once the White base had dried I applied a generous amount of the four colours on to a make up sponge (you can buy these really cheap from any pound shop where you get about twenty in a pack. You need to reapply the polishes for each nail.

I then gently placed the sponge from left to right from each side wall of the nail to achieve the Ombre effect. It is inevitable that you will get some polish on your skin but you can always tidy this up once you have finished all fingers and thumbs...

To finish it off I then added a single gold stud on my half moons keeping it simple as the Ombre Effect speaks for itself.

Check out my Ombre set of nails, let me know what you think?

Have a fabulous weekend Nail Junkies! Xxx

Aztec Adventure!

Hey Nailisters, hope you have had a great day thus far? Today I was totally inspired by a set of nails by Madeline Poole. As you know I am a huge fan of her work, immaculate execution, brilliant, innovative designs and skills...

I literally want to try all of her designs but with a touch and twist of POP Nails... The use of colour and design has been altered.

Check out my interpretation of Miss Poole's Nail design and my mini tutorial on how I achieved it...

Have a fab day! :))

Native American Art Inspired...!

I am loving the ombré and gradient look on the nails at the minute so decided to do a set on myself...

This design was inspired by Native American Art. The use of colours and patterns are beautiful with the Gradient theme running through them and the use of bold Black and White shapes and borders.

I have used all nail Inc polishes to create this design. And Orly stripers for the outlines and borders, check them out and let me know your thoughts?

Have a great week! :))

Ghetto Bang Bangin' Nails!

Hey all, so I decided to do a more detailed set of nails as I haven't done one in a while 'Ghetto Bang Bangin' Nails'. These were inspired by my era the fly girls of the 80's and 90's. Remember Roxanne? Salt N Pepa of course...

The colour scheme had to bright and of course my signature polka dots and stripes. I am loving the Gradient style on nails at the moment too so this is also included in my design...

I like to mix different mediums into my design, gold leaf in particular as you will see on the gun and bamboo ghetto gold earrings.

Check out my design and let me know your thoughts, have a super duper day xxx

Polka Dot Frenzy!

I didn't intend on my nails turning out like this but I actually really like them. They have about seven layers of design where I couldn't make up my mind...

They started of with a grey base and then huge White polka dots, two to three on each nail. I then drew pastel orange lines and white lines between the white polkas. I have an example below. It didn't end there...

This design was actually inspired by Boom Nails recent design, she is amazing. Her precision is so on point and I just love her unique designs.

Check them out and please excuse the mess of the before photo the after photo is cleaned up.

Blue, Green and a touch of White!

I was feeling in a blue, green mood for this particular manicure. I finally got my hands on Baker Street by Nails Inc, a cool Cobalt blue as seen worn by Beyonce. I have forever been in love with Long Acre another Nails Inc polish, unfortunately discontinued, so sad but true. A zesty Acid Green, Beautiful on hands, gorgeous on toes.

I decided to opt for a White striper (by Orly) as i tend to outline in black. This product is fab, as it never clogs unlike others I have tried.

The design again came out of nowhere really. I started off with the idea of lightening bolts and semi stars which evolved into leaves and random patterns, that's me, random.

I am pleased with the overall outcome of the design, it's striking and a little OTT and that's just my style.

Take a look and let me know what you think?

Have a great week Nail Addicts... Xx

Studded Nails!

Studded nails are a statement piece! I always like to keep it simple when using studs and you can use a variety of colours...

Round, square, oblong studs all look great. Here are a few examples from my portfolio from shoots, and regular clients.

Random mood!

Hey Nailettes, hope you are well. Sometimes I like to do random patterns when designing nails, whatever comes in my head. I usually do these for my little sister who is 19 and loves patterns and colours. So the brighter the better!

Usually bold colors, and abstract patterns. Lightening bolts, zig zags, tribal and Aztec. My little Sis cant get enough of them.

Check them out and let me know your thoughts, have a great weekend guys. Xx

Monochrome Nails!!

Hey all, hope you are all well. Today I was really feeling in the mood for monochrome nails! As the song says 'Ebony and Ivory live together in perfect harmony'

I came across an amazing nail artist by the name of Madeline Poole who had designed some super sick Black and White nails. Her work is amazing. Her designs stand out amongst the rest, clean lines always executed to a prestigious standard, always thinking outside the box.

I decided to put my own flavour to her design as I never and I mean never like to copy anyones designs... What is the point in being the same, right?

My design has many influences in it. From architectural bridges, stepping stones, stairwells and religious symbols. A little mixed up but hey, that's what I was feeling.

I have always loved the Aum/Om sign since I was a little girl. Having a Hindu grandmother, I travelled through India as a child, scribbling hundreds of Om signs in my note books on my journey, just because...

I always loved the Om signs meaning, as my grandmother told me 'it embodies the essence of the entire universe. God first created sound and the universe arose from it. As the most sacred sound, Om is the root of the universe and everything that exists and it continues to hold everything together.' it always stuck with me.

Back to monochrome nails, they look amazing and are perfect with every and any ensemble, day and night.

Take a peek at my monochrome nails inspired by Madeline Poole. Let me know what you think?

Have a gorgeous day :) xx

Nautical-esk meets Geometric! My Jubilee Nails!!

Hiya, as you all know already I have a passion for geometric designs and prints. I also love, love, love any thing Nautical. So fresh and so clean. Stripes , red, white and navy you can't beat it... Simply classic.

I came across a gorgeous print when shopping and thought instantly this would look great on Nails. I thought I'd try the Nautical theme it was only right being the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and added a little extra Ice blue in there too.

Take a look and let me know your thoughts?

Have a fab Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend... Xx
